Rukshan Mehta
Rukshan Mehta is a Summer Student at the McLaughlin-Rotman Centre for Global Health within the Ethics pillar. Rukshan just completed her first year at the University of Toronto's Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work in the MSW program. She did her undergraduate work at the University of Toronto majoring in Human Biology and Psychology and minoring in Anthropology. Rukshan was an intern with the U of T/UNAM collaborative student program run at the Centre for International Health (CIH) in 2008 and travelled to Namibia where she worked on an income-generation project for people living with disabilities. In 2009, she travelled to Kenya with Students for International Development (SID), a recently incorporated NGO where she worked on community based public health workshops and established a community based micro-finance project. She was also secretary of the Kenya project and is a board member of SID.
