Sarah Ali-Khan
Sarah Ali-Khan joined the MRC in June 2007 as a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Human Genomic Variation and Pharmacogenomics team. After her BSc studies in New Zealand in biochemistry and film, she completed her Ph.D. in Pharmacology & Therapeutics at McGill University in Montreal. Her research in the arena of developmental biology examined the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying abnormal embryonic development after drug exposures, particularly on the regulation of gene expression. Her current research focuses on novel ethical issues emerging from new genomic technologies, our developing understanding of the human genome and how these intersect with our concepts of race.
